Earlier today, University of Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez announced via a written statement that the university will not grant additional eligibility to their current seniors. This announcement comes in the wake of the NCAA allowing universities to bring back current seniors in the spring of 2021 without penalty.
The Stride Report has also been able to confirm via multiple sources that the ACC could follow suit, enacting similar limitations specifically on scholarships. For track and field, that means maintaining women's scholarships at 18 and men's scholarships at 12.6.
No decision regarding the ACC has been finalized.
The Stride Report can also confirm that should conference-wide limitations not take place, some universities are still expected to maintain the original scholarship limits mentioned above.
