Bowerman Track Club officially announced earlier today that Montana State steeplechase star, Duncan Hamilton, has joined their pro team.
Hamilton will make his pro debut in the red and white Nike kit tonight at the USA Outdoor Track Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
The Bobcat ace finished out his collegiate eligibility with personal bests of 8:16 in the steeplechase, 3:39 over 1500 meters, 7:44 for 3000 meters and 13:30 in the 5000 meters. Hamilton excelled over the barriers and earned three All-American honors in the steeplechase under Coach Lyle Weese, earning a pair of runner-up national meet finishes in the process.
Additionally, he recorded two top-10 finishes over 3000 meters at the indoor national meet and qualified for the cross country national meet three times, finishing as high as 59th in the fall of 2021.
Hamilton's personal best of 8:16 in the steeplechase puts him at NCAA #2 on the all-time list.
While he never won a national title, his back-to-back runner-up finishes at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, aggressive front-running ability, incredible range and overall consistency make him one of the best steeplechasers in NCAA history.
Hamilton is the second runner to join Bowerman Track Club this summer following Charles Hicks’ decision to forego his final year of eligibility and join the Nike-backed pro team.
With his aerobic strength and prowess in the steeplechase, Bowerman Track Club appears to have a long-term successor for Evan Jager over the water pits and barriers.
