Earlier today, former collegiate distance standouts Fiona O'Keeffe, Taylor Werner and Steven Fahy announced that they have signed professional contracts with Puma. FloTrack was the first to report that Werner was signing Puma. Earlier in the week, Puma also signed Olympic marathon qualifier Molly Seidel.
Werner was a six-time All-American star during her time with the Arkansas Razorbacks. Last winter, she ran 15:11 for 5000 meters at Boston University, a time that would have been the collegiate record had she not run unattached. The Razorback ace also owns additional personal bests of 4:17 (1500), 4:39 (mile), 8:51 (3k unattached) and 32:26 (10k).
As for O'Keeffe, she is a seven-time All-American between cross country and track. She owns personal bests of 4:39 (mile), 8:58 (3k), 15:31 (5k) and 32:12 (10k unattached). Her 10k time recently came at the Sound Running Track Meet back in December.
Steven Fahy, a former teammate of O'Keeffe's at Stanford, was a four-time All-American between cross country and track which includes the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Championship steeplechase title. According to TFRRS, Fahy owns personal bests of 4:00.60 (mile), 7:54 (3k), 13:34 (5k) and 8:34 (3k steeplechase).
Based on a December 2nd report from FloTrack, the new Puma-sponsored group will be based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. That, however, has not been confirmed by The Stride Report. It is also unclear who will coach the team at this time.
