Earlier this weekend, North Central announced that head cross country and track and field coach Frank Gramarosso will be stepping down from his role at the conclusion of the 2021-2022 academic calendar to retire.
North Central has said that for the first time in nearly 60 years, they will soon begin their first open search in order to fill the position.
Gramarosso first joined the NCC coaching staff in 1983 and was eventually named the head coach for the Cardinal's track and field program in August of 2010. He later took over the head cross country position from former NCC head coach and Division Three legend, Al Carius, in the summer of 2020.
Carius has since moved into an assistant coaching role where he remains today.
During his time with the Cardinal's, Gramarosso has helped develop one of the most dominant track and field and cross country programs in Division Three history. According to North Central's website, Gramarosso helped the team win 12 NCAA D3 national team titles on the track, five of which were during his tenure as head coach.
