Earlier today, in an article for LetsRun, Jonathan Gault reported that Tulane's 2024 cross country All-American Caroline Jeptanui has been provisionally suspended by the Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya (ADAK) since September of 2024.
According to the report, LetsRun had received a letter from ADAK alleging that Jeptanui, the 12th place finisher at the NCAA XC Championships back in November, had "'adamantly evaded, refused, and failed' to submit to a drug test at the Kapsabet Half Marathon and 'further attempted to hide [her] identity in an effort to tamper with the sample collection exercise.'"
Earlier this year, The Stride Report received notice from one source who stated that news regarding an alleged anti-doping violation for a top unnamed collegiate distance runner would be released in the early portions of 2025.
The Stride Report reached out to Tulane Head Coach Adrian Myers for further comment and were provided with a statement from Jana Woodson, the Deputy AD of External Relations at Tulane University...
"We are committed to creating an environment that fosters teamwork, scholarship, sportsmanship, leadership, loyalty, and integrity. We are aware of a recent article regarding one of our student-athletes and will work with the proper organizations and governing bodies to ensure all requirements are fulfilled."

The Stride Report also reached out to ADAK to further verify the report, but did not receive a response.
Per the report, LetsRun also reached out to Scholarbook Premier, an agency which connects international athletes to universities for a fee. Scholarbook Premier stated that they were, "unaware" about Jeptanui's provisional suspension up until this week.
